Evan Metanomski - Founder

My natural ability in sport became apparent at a young age, which sent me on a path less travelled. From the age of seven I followed my dreams pursuing a career in soccer, training religiously many times a week.During these early years my sporting abilities flourished, as I matured physically much sooner than my teammates, thereby benefitting from the advantages of being athletically more developed. Whilst on the soccer field this was a positive, I struggled off the field in everyday life as I was different from everyone else. This came with some challenges, however normalised when others caught up.

From a very early age I represented South Australia at all age levels and was awarded three consecutive scholarships with the South Australian Sports Institute (SASI). I was Captain in my final year. Following SASI I was offered a scholarship with the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra for a period of 18 months. During this time I qualified for the U/20 Australian Olympic squad.

Unfortunately, injury plagued me in the following years. I played professional soccer in Germany until the age of 25 when I suffered a broken leg, ending my professional career. Whilst this outcome was far from ideal the experiences I had gave me a broad range of skills, perspective, systems and attitudes that were pivotal in the subsequent years after soccer.

Despite completing year 12 in Canberra, I felt I hadn’t achieved my full potential, so it was time to figure out my future. This was an incredibly scary situation as all I had previously focused on was a career in soccer. Having had some investment success in the recovery of the 2008 Global Financial Crisis, I decided to test my ability and enrol in University. I was required to complete a year foundation study to gain entry as a mature age student. It had been over ten years since I had written anything academic and was required to re-learn essay writing skills, amongst others.

During my years of study, I was able to draw upon many of the qualities I had acquired through intense and repetitive soccer training, to persist and push ahead when times were tough. I completed my degree in Applied Finance having endured setbacks along the way. It was at this moment I realised anything is possible providing one never gives up.

The past six years in the corporate world as a Stockbroker and Equity Analyst in Sydney was an unforgettable experience. Through these roles I developed abilities and skills I never knew I had or thought possible. Today, I enter the NDIS program bursting with confidence, aiming to make a positive and meaningful impact in people’s lives, and bestowing all I have learnt for the benefit of my clients and the people around me.

I would love the opportunity to meet you. We can make the everyday things enjoyable, and shoot for the stars as well.
